Can being overworked cause depression?
Long Hours of Work unless you are one of those lucky
souls who is really passionate about your job, then you have probably scorned
your long week of work. And even for those of us who love our work, knowing
that you HAVE to do something can sometimes get you trying. New research is
finding that those who work long hours, more than 11 hours a day and 55 hours a
week, are more likely to be plagued by severe bouts of depression.
Women and young adults are especially prone to depression, and
those in low-wage grades who drank regularly were also vulnerable. The study
was one of the most in-depth of its kind ever conducted in depression and the
workweek. He followed 2,000 public officials in various jobs and salary grades
in the 1990s. Six years later, when they followed up, the researchers found a
"strong association between overtime and depression," but the study
took account of the style healthy life, marital status and degree of job
stress.

Of those surveyed for the Whitehall II study, 66 were more
detailed about working hours and health in this country, experiencing a "major
depression episode" at a later rate of 3.1 percent. .
Those who work 11 or more hours a day are two and a half times
more likely to work seven or eight hours a day.
Interestingly, the level of frustration did not rise for men
working in challenging and well-paid jobs.
Long-term work life may be associated with a lack of control,
which promotes depression. For someone who works more than 11 hours a day, he
has very little time and he can spend some time in your domain.
Working long hours also separates you from social relationships
and friendships. When we are constantly at work, it takes time for others to
get to work and go back to sleep. However, people who work long hours get very
little sleep while trying to do things around the house, or at least enjoy some
time. And without sleep, we run the corpse for a moment without a mind. When
you are not there, do not think about work. If it doesn’t disappoint you, I
don’t know what will happen.
